Over the past few months I have been working as a Studio Assistant at Oak Apple Press near Cambridge, UK. The artist is my father, Andy English ([link]) and I have been learning how to print artwork as well as wood engraving and lino cuts. In the next couple of weeks he is starting to teach me how to letter press, the original aim being to make "Broadsides" of my poems with artwork by him.

I have now come up with a project which I shall be focussing on over the next year. The basis, a book of my poems, or a small anthology of different poets in a small edition (100-150) writing about a specific theme. The theme I would like to do is a journey (you could say) through the day - Dawn, Noon, Dusk, Night etc. etc. This book will feature my own artwork, each one handprinted and possibly coloured, and, once I have learnt, hand-bound by myself.

At first I shall be attempting to write the poems all myself, but I'm sure you know what it's like writing to deadlines about specific subjects - if it doesn't go well, I shall be searching dA for poets whom I admire and some of the people I am friends with on here. I'm going to try and keep the cost down as much as possible, and being unemployed, if you do agree to write a poem for the book then payment would probably only be a copy of the book.

If you could please give feedback on whether you think this would be a good idea then that would be great.
